Health, safety & hygiene

Your wellbeing and safety come first. Here's what to know about hygiene practices at Sophie Massage, and situations where massage may not be appropriate.

Hygiene practices

  • Fresh linens, towels and covers are used for every client and changed between sessions.
  • Hands are washed and sanitised before and after each treatment.
  • Massage tools and surfaces are cleaned and disinfected between sessions.
  • The studio is ventilated and cleaned regularly.
  • If you're feeling unwell (fever, cold, flu, contagious illness), please reschedule — this protects you, other clients and myself.

Contraindications & medical disclaimer

Massage is generally safe, but it isn't appropriate for everyone or in every situation. Please tell me before your session if any of the following apply to you, so the treatment can be adjusted or safely postponed:

  • Fever, infectious or contagious illness
  • Deep vein thrombosis, blood clotting disorders or being on blood thinners
  • Uncontrolled high blood pressure or heart conditions
